Corus Group plc

It is my pleasure to declare that Vergouw Consulting is involved in our international financial management training. He acts as teacher, designer and 'e-counseller'. Vergouw's willingness to connect to the financial thinking and acting is remarkable. The critical attitude, the innovativeness and the use of common sense of Vergouw Consulting makes our relationship solid.

Vergouw does not mind rethinking successful designs and to submit it to a critical analysis. The practical approach ensures a close relationship with our participants.

Vergouw contributes to training sessions which focus on basic financial management knowledge, from young academics up till senior management. Specialised subjects like the Balanced Scorecard, Activity Based Costing and Shareholder Value are treated in such a way that participants can attribute meaning to these concepts. Vergouw makes financial management accessible from high levels to low levels.

One specific aspect of Vergouw's teaching that has attracted me personally, is the fact that he thinks aloud in the classrooms. When he does not know the answer directly, he tells the group, but he never fails to search until he finds the correct answer to a question. Participants are taken by the hand by this approach. All in all, Vergouw's professionalism is not above, but in between the people.

Corus Group plc originated from a merger between British Steel and Koninklijke Hoogovens (October 1999). Within the enterprise, 62.000 employees are working, of which half in the UK.
